Covid-19 is back in Kingston. Should we blame people for getting their nails done? The government for rushing to reopen the economy? Is there a way to shift this conversation away from shame and blame of individuals while still talking about responsibility and best practices? We also play anti-colonial music and sharing clips from resistance movements in honour of #CancelCanadaDay

Most "pride" events are cancelled because of the pandemic, but a movement against racist policing is happening across the US and beyond. Does the pandemic give us a chance to mark the anniversary of the Stonewall riots in a way that's true to the anti-police roots of pride?

Last week, the City of Kingston changed the message on road signs around town from “Stay Safe – Stay Home” to “Stay Safe – Shop Local,” and launched the LoveKingston campaign to promote local businesses. Do you feel ready to go shopping? Will shopping local help keep us safe? Do you care whether you’re buying from a Kingston business vs. Wal-mart vs. Amazon? Which local businesses will you be happy to see re-open, and which local businesses would you prefer to see disappear?

Homeless and underhoused populations have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic. In April, the city of Kingston closed the only shelter and drop-in centre in town and opened an "isolation centre" at a former retirement residence. Due to the restrictive conditions, some residents decided to start a tent city at Belle Park and have been camping out there for several weeks. Join us on Wednesday for a discussion on housing and homelessness as we speak to someone currently living at...

Who is falling through the gaps of this program and how could it be better administered? Some countries have implemented a universal basic income in the context of the pandemic.
